Shredded chicken wraps are such an easy meal when life gets busy that I knew I had to include them as part of the Instant Pot series! They work great for any season of the year, and chicken wraps are super versatile. You can change up the flavor combinations really easily so that you don’t get bored eating the same thing over and over again. As a bonus, they also make great leftovers for lunches as well, which, for a weeknight meal, makes them really hard to beat!
Now chicken wraps are really popular in fast food places and restaurants, but with the Instant Pot you can make them really easily at home for a lot less money! In this blog post, I’m going to teach you how to prepare chicken for chicken wraps with the pressure cooker, and I’ll explain how you can make different versions of these wraps depending on your mood.
Another bonus for this recipe is that these wraps are also great for meal prep! You could batch cook and shred the chicken, mix it up with the dressing you like, and then make the wraps when you wanted them, or you could even make a different wrap for each lunch of the week. Really, this recipe is one of my favorites, and I love coming up with creative and new flavor combinations for these shredded chicken wraps!

Before you make these though, here are some things you may be wondering…
What to put in chicken wraps?
This all depends on what kind of chicken wrap you want to create. While every wrap requires chicken and some form of tortilla, there are many versions, such as:
–Chicken Ranch Wrap: These simple chicken wraps most often just have ranch dressing mixed in with the chicken and/or drizzled on it with some greens and maybe some shredded cheese and carrots or even chopped tomatoes.
–Chicken Caesar Wrap: This classic requires some chopped romaine lettuce, croutons, parmesan cheese, and of course Caesar dressing. My hubby and I would argue that fresh ground black pepper is also a must, but you can decide that for yourself.
–Buffalo Chicken Wrap: For the spicy lovers, this wrap will have you include buffalo sauce, shredded cheddar cheese, and maybe some greens with blue cheese or ranch dressing.
–Chicken Lettuce Wrap: Anyone who wants to watch their carb intake can enjoy these variations, but instead of a tortilla, they will need to use lettuce to wrap up their ingredients.
While these are all tried and true options, don’t feel limited to just these. Try new combinations, and incorporate flavors or ingredients that you love into your wraps! Be willing to try out new toppings, and you might just create a new variation that you think is the best chicken wrap ever!

Are chicken wraps healthy for you?
The answer to this questions really is dependent on you own personal dietary needs and the toppings you choose to use, but chicken wraps can be healthy for you. Chicken breasts are a low fat source of protein, and adding vegetables into your wraps can really be a great way to add in some important nutrients. Just be aware of what kind of dressing you choose to use and how much since many dressings can be full of fats, oils, and other ingredients that we need to monitor our intake of.

Can you meal prep chicken wraps?
You should be able to! Depending on the kind of tortilla you use, you should be able to make them earlier in the day for a quick and easy grab and go dinner if needed. I do not usually prepare the wrap itself ahead of time though as I would be concerned about the tortilla getting soggy and then losing its integrity. However, I have prepped the chicken and ingredients ahead of time so that I can make a wrap within a couple minutes when needed. This allows for a quick dinner or lunch that I just had to assemble.
Favorite Tools:
The Instant Pot is one of my favorite tools in the kitchen! I love using it for so many recipes, and it is often used during busy seasons. The one below is a great option if you are ready to get started on this Instant Pot pressure cooking journey!

What do you need to make instant pot chicken wraps:
-Chicken Breasts, boneless & skinless
-Chicken Broth
-Salt & Pepper
-Any additional seasonings desired (e.g. Italian Seasoning, Thyme, Rosemary, Paprika)
-Tortillas
-Dressing
-Greens & Other Toppings
How to make shredded chicken wraps:

Place your chicken in the Instant Pot. Add the broth and seasonings.
On the manual function, set the timer for 10-16 minutes depending on size of your chicken breasts and whether they are frozen or not and the thickness of the breasts. (The recommendation from Instant Pot site says 5-8 minutes per pound.)

Use the natural release method once the chicken is done. After the pressure is released, you will need to shred the chicken. Most of the time, I just use two forks to shred the chicken in the instant pot to save on dishes. However, if I am mixing the chicken with a dressing, I will shred it in a bowl to drain off any excess cooking liquid more easily.
Mix the dressing into the chicken. While this step is optional, if you are adverse to dry chicken, I suggest doing this! Also, if you are a meal prep person, doing this ahead of time can mean you have one extra step done.

Finally, grab a tortilla, place some chicken with the toppings on it, and wrap it up to enjoy!
