Want some homemade peach frozen yogurt? All you need are a few basic ingredients, a blender, and a little time to make this sweet treat from home. Peaches are a perfect fruit to use to get that delicious summertime flavor, and adding them to some creamy yogurt makes the best summer dessert! Plus, when you make it at home, you can have control and keep all the beneficial ingredients in your frozen yogurt.

Peaches are the sign of summer for me. When I see fresh peaches coming out at the markets, I get so excited! Nothing beats the taste of a tree-ripened peach. It’s just one of those amazing flavors that you can’t replicate and is only around for a few months of the year.
Because these delectable treats are only around for a few short months each year, you have to take advantage of the harvest while you can! Baking cobbler, making frozen yogurt, and enjoying them fresh are all wonderful options in my book. Then if you want to have peaches available for a longer period of time, you can preserve the peaches in different ways! This is what I do for my family when I am able.
My favorite way to preserve peaches is actually very simple. I wash the peaches, slice them up, place them on cookie sheets, and freeze the slices. Then I bag them up to be used for whatever I want to make later. In this form, you can make peach pie, cobbler, frozen yogurt, or whatever you want. Frozen peaches are amazingly versatile, and so easy to preserve!
Frozen peaches are actually how this recipe was inspired. We had gone peach picking with some friends and had come home with pounds and pounds of perfectly ripe peaches, so I of course had to freeze many of them before they spoiled. Well, I always want to taste test my work in the kitchen, so I was trying to decide what to make. At the time, it was way too hot to turn on the oven for a crisp or cobbler, so instead, my mind went to ice cream and frozen yogurt. After a few trials, I was able to create this recipe, and I’ve been using it ever since!
Even though I usually make this recipe with frozen peaches, you can totally make this recipe with fresh peaches too! You will just need plan ahead because it will add some more time to your total cook time since you will have to wait for it to freeze before enjoying. If you wanted to do this but not wait quite as long to eat, you could pour it into popsicle molds or other individual containers, and it wouldn’t take as long to solidify in the freezer.

What is frozen yogurt?
Frozen yogurt is a frozen dessert that has a yogurt base, and usually includes different flavors and sweeteners. It differs from ice cream, which has a cream base, because the yogurt may contain probiotics. However, I have also read that the FDA doesn’t regulate frozen yogurt labeling, so you are never sure how much yogurt is used in commercial frozen yogurt versus cream and milk. That’s why I prefer to just make my own.
Is frozen yogurt healthy?
This is a big question because it depends on your own health and dietary needs. There are some benefits of frozen yogurt that are not existent in ice cream and other frozen treats, mainly probiotics. However, most of the health benefits vary dramatically depending on what brand and flavor you choose at the store. Instead, I choose to make it at home so I am aware of what goes into my frozen yogurt, and I get to decide how much of each ingredient is needed.
Is frozen yogurt dairy free?
Frozen yogurt is not normally dairy free, but it may contain less lactose than other desserts depending on what brand you buy. If you are making it with this recipe, you could make a dairy free version by using alternative yogurt and milk. I have not tried this myself, but you should be able to do so and get a tasty dairy-free frozen yogurt.
Does frozen yogurt have sugar?
Frozen yogurt does have sugar, or other sweeteners, in it, which is what makes it a dessert. For my homemade version, I chose to use presweetened yogurt. However, you could easily substitute a plain yogurt and sweeten with honey, maple syrup, date syrup, coconut sugar, or whatever sweetener you would prefer, or even no sweetener at all. That’s the beauty of homemade frozen yogurt! You can make it match what you want or need.
Supplies:
-Peaches, frozen or fresh
-Yogurt, sweetened/flavored or not
-Milk
-Sweetener (optional)
-Blender
How to Make Frozen Yogurt in the Blender (with Frozen Peaches):
Place all of the ingredients in your blender. I recommend putting in the liquid, then yogurt and sweetener (if using), and then frozen peaches.
Blend until ingredients are fully incorporated and smooth. You may need to stop a few times to mix or push the peaches down if they get stuck, or add a little more mild a tablespoon or two at a time. However, be patient! It may take a little time, but it will come together.
Once blended, you can serve immediately for a soft serve version, or if you want to be able to scoop it, you can place in a freezer safe container with a tight lid and freeze for about an hour or until the yogurt has hardened. Then serve up and enjoy!

How to Make Frozen Yogurt in the Blender (with Fresh Peaches):
To make the frozen yogurt with fresh peaches, you will need to plan ahead a little bit more. You will need to put all of the ingredients in your blender in the same order as above, and blend until smooth.
Then you will need to pour the yogurt mixture into a freezer safe container with a tight lid and freeze for several hours until thoroughly frozen. Then you can scoop it into a bowl, and enjoy!
