Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, melted added to mix
  • 3 tsp vanilla added to mix
  • 4 eggs added to mix
  • 1 ⅛ cup all-purpose flour in jar
  • ¾ tsp baking powder in jar
  • ¾ tsp salt in jar
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder in jar
  • 2 ¼ cup granulated sugar in jar

Equipment

  • 1 Quart Mason Jar with Lid
  • 1 Canning Funnel

Method

  1. Use the canning jar funnel to layer the dry ingredients in this order: flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, and sugar.
  2. Top with the lid, and decorate how you desire.
  3. When making the brownies, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9x13in. pan.
  4. Put the melted butter, vanilla, and the sugar layer from the jar into a large bowl. (Don't worry if you don't get a perfect layer.) Mix until thoroughly combined.
  5. Add all of the eggs to the mixture, and beat well.
  6. Dump the rest of the ingredients into the bowl, and mix batter well until thick and glossy.
  7. Pour the batter into the greased pan and spread out evenly.
  8. Place in the oven and bake for 25-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean or with slight crumbs sticking to it.
  9. Let cool slightly, slice up in pieces, and enjoy!
