Creativity is so special. We all have some sort of gift, talent, ability, or skill. While we may not be “the best” at whatever it is, we still enjoy it and at times, are motivated to be challenged in it. I like to think that this is creativity because it takes more than just work or simple knowledge to complete it. Instead, it requires us to push ourselves, think, use ideas, admit failure, change, apply the change, and all while enjoying the process.
The Bible says that God is the original Creator. He created us and the whole universe. His creation is perfect, or was until we messed it up, but he still gives us the gift of creativity. While he doesn’t need to go through the process of failure and trying to make things better, I still believe that God grants us these gifts to see what we will do with them. Honor ourselves, or glorify him.
While each of us has a choice of what we do with our own specific gifts, we also need to recognize and celebrate the gifts of others. The community around and among those who share the outcomes of their creativity can be supportive and encouraging. We can learn from one another, help each other grow, and teach others about our own gifts. Some of us may share similar creative interests, while others may teach us about things we have never even heard of, but this is what this blog is all about–celebrating all types of creativity.
I hope you will be willing to share, learn, teach, and grow with this community of creators. And remember, creativity is a gift. And that is what makes it so special.
